Hello Readers! (if there still are any)….
It’s been several months now since THIS site was the center of my universe and I used every minute of free time to promote myself and “get those votes!” LOL It makes me wanna laugh now or maybe cry….. But anyway, since I find myself aimlessly fishing around this site once in a while I figure there must be several people out there who still come by and do the same.
So here I am writing to all of you once again and letting you know a little bit more about me and what‘s going on in my life. Sometimes I find myself reminiscing the efforts and emotions involved in this (almost silly) roller coaster of a competition! (Like I’m sure many of you do, especially my fellow Top Ten finalist!) How interesting that so many people from all over the nation and world were sitting at their computers trying to convince viewers why they should be the 7th Cast Member of Real World Season 20!
Real World Hollywood?! Wow…I’ve probably partied with the cast and didn’t even know it, although there’s a chance I wouldn’t remember even if I did run into them at a Hollywood club!! Ha ha ha ;)
Anyway…. I’m here in sunny Long Beach at a coffee shop (where I should be studying!) and just wanted to take a sec and express myself a lil bit! I hope all of you are doing well wherever you are! It sure was an interesting experience getting to know all of you and letting all of you get to know me too! Keep in touch and don’t hesitate to send a hello! Add me on Myspace if you want (because who know how long RWC will be here;) Keep an eye out for me because believe me RWC won’t be the last you see of me! A special hello goes out to my fellow Top Ten: You all did an amazing job and I wish you luck in the future! If you get a chance let me know what all of you are up to after REALWORLDCASTING.com.
Sincerely,
Alma Camera aka. MissCAMERA
HEY HEY HEY Everyone!
I'm sure everyone is super excited today just as I am! I woke up and literally screamed with excitment, joy and because there are no words that can describe how I feel. I guess elated and OMG thrilled and overjoyed! This has been one amazing ride to say the least!
I hope you take the time to WATCH MY LATEST VIDEOS, especially the newest “Blast from the Past”. I think you will enjoy seeing what Alma Camera was like as a little girl!
I hope you all got some sleep last night although I know it was hard for me to finally fall asleep. I had so many thoughts running through my head! Especially for the last 7 days, I have had Real World running through my veins! “Vote for me……Vote for ME!” Everyone knows how bad I want it and I hope you will help me finish strong with your VOTE TODAY! Tell a friend and thanks again for getting to know me!!
OH yeah. Please ADD ME on MYSPACE….Myspace.com/almacamera
Have a GREAT DAY! You deserve it! LOVE Alma
If you were cast on the RW, what would your family be surprised to learn about you?
I'm sure that SOMETHING will surprise each and every one of them. I'm full of surprises and often I even surprise myself! LOL I can imagine the fact that I can drink THAT much and party THAT hard will surprise the people who think of me as "Little sweet ol' Alma"! Also...I'm bound to get in some interesting trouble during the show so "surprise" "surprise" ...I hope you enjoy the crazy adventures!
Which of your activities or behaviors would you NOT want your family to see on TV?
Of course there are things I would prefer that my family didn't see. Including but not limited to anything suitable for telling a priest in confessional. Example: Running naked throughout my room, the house and/or the streets! Of course hook ups. I wouldn't want them to see and crying outbursts and yelling outburst or crying AND yelling OUTBURST...but it wouldn't be the first time for my immediate household. LOL Oh and I wouldn't want my mom to see if I'm caught picking my nose...LOL she constantly says to me...."Alma...you're so pretty, why you always pick your nose?! You better stop that!" (In her adorable "FOB" Filipino accent.)
Hey again.
I want to send a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has provided positive support! Thank you for seeing what I have to offer and thanks for of course... THE VOTES. So many people that are in my life now, friends, family, co-workers, and classmates have really stepped up and provided such great support! My friend Alan told ALL of his co-workers about me and got me some more votes. Thank you! And thank you to everyone else who has seen my passion and drive and who have takin the time from their lives to vote for me. Even people I haven't talked to in years have reached out and are supporting me all the way. And lastly THANK YOU to everyone who has taking the time to read about me, watch my videos and look at my pics. I want to know there is a whole lot more to me than just partying. I realized a big part of my profile communicates the fun and silly side of me. People who actually know me in real life know that I DO LIKE TO HAVE A GOOD TIME, but there is so much more to me too! I'm passionate about life in everyway and I believe in giving back to the community. Giving back had always been a priority and always will be. I’m also passionate about my family who are also supporting me all the way. At first I wasn’t sure how they would feel about all this and when they saw me putting countless hours into my efforts, they worried about my other commitments like school. I assured them I was fine, and choose not to tell them how much sleep I wasn’t getting;) Speaking of school, I have to admit, I am so happy today is my last day! I have been taking 2 intense summer courses and I have one more final, so wish me luck. Again, thanks for reading and for voting for me!
And for those of you wasting your time leaving the nasty comments, go do something productive with yourselves. Obviously you are lucky enough to be a fully capable being and so stop wasting my time and your time! Do something that makes you happy and lose the hate. Life is so much better when you love yourself and the people around you!
Again thanks SO much and stay close for more! New videos soon to come!
Sincerely,
Alma
Hello Everyone!
I wanted to express how happy I am right now! Today has felt so amazing from the time I woke up and it became real that I was in the Top Ten...I literally screamed and jumped for joy! I have been running around like crazy telling EVERYONE to vote for me! For over a month my desire to become the 7th Cast Member of Real World Season 20 has been apparent to everyone around me! I even got pulled over by a police officer, who luckily didn't give me a ticket, and asked him to vote for me. I gave him a flyer telling him exactly how. I flew home to Sacramento where my parents live just so I could share some childhood pictures with all of you. On the flight, I was able to convince the flight attendant to let me make an announcement to everyone asking for their support and votes! I am so grateful for all of the support I am getting! I hope you are enjoying getting to know me better and I look forward to sharing a whole lot more with you in the near future! I want this more than anything and I appreciate YOU bringing ME to the top! It’s true, there’s only room for one more and now is the time to think about who you really want to see in that Real World House! VOTE for ME because life was meant to be FUN and the 6 strangers I meet won’t be the only ones who will learn about living life with a passion for enjoying EVERY MOMENT to the fullest and being passionate about the people around us.
A sincere thanks for your time and votes!
I wish everyone the best!
• Describe yourself as a competitor.
I keep my eye on the prize! When I am competing for something I try and keep a positive attitude and push myself to my personal limit! It’s truly an amazing feeling when you do something that others didn’t think you could do and sometimes surprizing yourself because you thought you could not do it. I will go the extra mile to work towards my goal and I won’t let other people get in my way, mentally or physically. One time during a sorority inner tube water polo competition, I got so aggressive that I accidentally kicked a girl in the face. Ouch.
• Why do you want to be on the RW? Why do you think others will vote for you?
I want to be on Real World to show the world that you don’t have to be afraid to live life to the fullest! Everyday is meant to be lived up and when I am cast as the 7th Cast Member, you will see that FUN is my middle name. I want to share the excitement I experience daily with 6 new friends and the rest of the world.
People will vote for me because they wish they were having as much fun as me! LOL and because I say and do things that most people would not. People may not always agree with the decisions I make, but one thing they will agree on is that I am entertaining and fun to watch. I live outside of the box and what I think is normal most people think is outrageous, silly, wild, and spontaneous.
• Do you drink alcohol? If yes, how do you generally behave when intoxicated?
I got an early start testing the waters with alcohol. I had my first drink in the 8th grade. My girlfriend and I were baking cookies and found my parents tequila in the pantry. We took a few shots and were drunk for the first time.
Through high school I partied a lot. I started having problems with my limits and I still find myself drinking way too much sometimes. When I’m intoxicated, I can get into some trouble. I get a little rowdy, and VERY ambitious. You might see me dancing on the hood of a taxi cab, all over the club and if cops are around I will ask if they want to party too! The funny thing is that half the stuff I do sober may make you wanna ask “Are you drunk”….so when I am drunk, I tend to cross the line a bit.
o What is the biggest problem you face?
I try not to focus on my problems but I think the biggest problem I face is dealing with people who don’t like me. I don’t give people a reason not to like me but because of my personality, some people find reasons not to. For example, I mentioned earlier that I love to have fun, and sometimes TOO MUCH FUN! When I’m having the time of my life it might mean that I am a bit obnoxious! People get annoyed that I’m singing too much, not afraid to do a keg stand, and not afraid to be myself and live life to the fullest!
o Describe your childhood and home.
I grew up in your average suburban neighborhood in northern California. My childhood was very exciting. I grew up with my two younger siblings who are very close in age. We were always playing together and getting in to trouble. Like the time we were in elementary school and walking home and thought it would be a good idea to roll a huge tire from a truck into the middle of the road. Not so great when teachers from school are forced to drive around it as we stood and laughed. One pulled over, made us go back to school to inform our parents of our “dangerous” behavior. Of course being SO close meant we fought too. In high school, sometimes we would get in arguments at lunch. One time when I was sitting at the lunch table, my brother came by and let out the biggest fart! He then started pointing at me and laughing and yelling out “Alma farted”. I was so annoyed and even though I really didn’t fart…I was embarrassed that he was yelling so that the whole cafeteria could hear! I guess I laugh about it now even though at the time I was pretty upset! LOL One time when we were on a drive as a family, I had to pee. My dad wouldn’t pull over and instead handed me a cup which I used to pee in while we continued the drive. My family time has been filled with great experiences we can look back on and laugh. My parents were strict when I first started middle school. They didn’t let me spend the night many of my friends houses and were strict about curfews. They always had to know who I was with and where I was going. One time my mom started recording my phone calls and learned that I was meeting boys at the movies. She showed up at the movies theaters and walked in to find me. We hadn’t even met the guys cause at the time we only had pagers…lol but I was SO embarrassed that my parents came in to find me! As I got older they loosened the reigns but you still might find me going out in my PJ’s to “stay at a GF’s” and changing to go out and party! My mom is Filipino and my dad is Italian and Irish. Naturally there are differences in cultures and how they felt about raising their 3 kids. Being the oldest of the three kids meant I was always trying to push the limit.
o Describe a major issue or event that has affected your family.
Like I mentioned earlier, the biggest problem I face is dealing with people who don’t like me. This is an issue that has also greatly affected my family. The way that it has affected us is because people have actually committed hate crimes against my family and I. One time when we were home sleeping, someone launched huge rocks through 2 windows. One barely missing my brother's head! It was very scary and even though luckily nobody was hurt, it surely could have been more serious. Another time some people came over who had an issue with my brother and smashed out the windows in my house. They even reached in and smashed windows in the cars we had parked in our garage! To think my mom was all alone at that time is very upsetting. This is a major issue because my family has always encouraged me to be myself and if people don’t like that, they should keep it to themselves instead of acting out and trying to hurt others. Not everyone feels this way and sadly people would try and hurt my family as their way of dealing with an issue.
How do you handle conflicts?
At first I laugh. Depending on what the issue is, I don’t feel most things are worth getting mad over so when others around me get upset, I laugh at them to myself. I’m pretty direct when it does come down to addressing conflicts. I go to the source and find out what I need to know. I’m very open with sharing my feelings about a person or my relationship with them…I share my feelings constantly and that's my way of dealing. I’ll go to people around me for advise on how to deal with the conflict. If a conflict has been addressed and there continues to be a problem, then I can sometimes act on impulse! When my feelings are hurt, everyone will know. I expect respect and I don’t find any reason I shouldn’t get it all the time.
o Do you feel that your approach is effective? Why or why not?
I DO when I feel better about the situation afterwards. Because then we can continue to have a great time together. I DO NOT when someone around me continues bad behavior or disrespect because then I have to make it clear and my way of making it clear isn’t always the best way because it can become very emotional and driven by feelings instead of being logical.
Hey we only live once and we have to live life to the fullest! Anyone who knows me knows that I don't feel bad about having TOO MUCH FUN!
"Sometimes there are things that we might not want our grandparents to witness....BUT if we only did things we WOULD want our grandparents to see ...life could be boring! Imagine...no drinking out of the carton, no staying up too late (old people don't believe in coming home at 4am), no swearing, and above all THAT it means no table top dancing, late night skinny dips, no body-shots on the bar top!...no hooking up?!"
Anyway! I am so happy to be celebrating my independence and tonight will be filled with explosions of FUN!
HAPPY 4th OF JULY EVERYONE!
I appreciate your votes!
I know you will have fun watching me share my INSANE life with 6 other people! VOTE for me because life is meant to be FUN!
Can I just add how lucky I am to have grandparents who love me unconditionally! Love you Nana and Pop-pop. and I'm sorry in advance for any behavior you witness that you may feel I need to go to confessional for...
You are driving on the freeway late at night and it’s very dark out. You look over to see a family of five (plus the dog, Sam) in the Dodge minivan with all the lights on. You’re surprised to see that the family is dancing and singing and being totally obnoxious all together, just for the hell of it! LOL
This is just one example of how my family is different than most! (Who else do you know who would do such a random act!)
I have a very unique relationship with my family. We are VERY close. We talk about anything and everything and sometimes it gets scary when my parents give TMI (too much information). Example: Hearing about the "huge poop" my dad had...etc.
My family is INTENSE. If you watched my family at the dinner table, you might think you were on the set of a soap opera or something because you will LAUGH and you will CRY and all the in-between. People tell us that there could be a reality TV show just about my family because of how entertaining and crazy it can be at the Camera family house!
I grew up with my mom, Ruth, my dad, Joe, my brother, Joey,my sister, Tina and my dog Sam. I really depend on my family for advise and support and I can always depend on them for a good laugh too! I also have a half-brother, John who I did not grow up with but actually met for the first time last Thanksgiving! You won’t believe this but my younger sister actually contacted him for the first time through MYSPACE! That’s an interesting story that I will have to share with you all later.
Each person in my family has a strong personality and an opinion that they will take to the grave. For this reason, it’s no wonder that there are disagreements, which are not always so pretty. When there’s something that we disagree about, it can be hard to listen to the other side of the story and sometimes, ok most times, it leads to yelling and screaming that the neighbors probably don’t enjoy.
Lastly, my family is HILARIOUS. There’s always something to laugh about no matter where we are! My dad is the one who taught me what a "Chinese Fire Drill" is. And for those of you who don't know...it's when you are stopped at a busy stop light and everybody jumps out of the car, runs around like crazy while the music blasts (and if you're my dad or brother, you feel it necessary to pull your pants down and moon everyone) and then get back in the car before the light turns green! Good times. Like I mentioned earlier, we will do random funny shit just for the hell of it and a good laugh. I guess it’s in the genes.
Oh and by the way, Camera actually is my last name! Hence the reason I’m MissCAMERA. Thanks for reading.

OH YEAAAAH!
Luv Alma
Get to know me a little bit better!
So lets start off with my BEST TRAITS:
I’m ORIGINAL. Most people say they have never met someone like me! (I assume that’s a compliment.) I do things my way and I don’t really give a f@*% what other people think.
I’m FUN. Always looking to have a good time…and I mean a really good time. LOL all the time! If I’m not laughing at something, I’m giving you something to laugh about!
I’m WILD. I mean I don’t even need a shot of tequila to start dancing on tabletops!
I’m COMPETITIVE! I strive to win. From chuggin’ a beer the quickest to a contest to see who can KISS (yes, kiss) a computer the longest (I was first runner-up at 81/2 hours), I will give it my all!
I’m PASSIONATE. I live life with strong emotions. I feel the love from others and am naturally very compassionate.
I’m OUTRAGEOUS! out·ra·geous [out-rey-juh s] Def: 1.Being well beyond the bounds of good taste. 2. passing reasonable bounds; intolerable or shocking 3. highly unusual or unconventional; extravagant; remarkable 4. unthinkable, appalling. 5. Alma Camera
Now lets talk about my WORST TRAITS:
I’m TOO EMOTIONAL. Sometimes I can be irrational because my emotions “take over”. Emotionally, I can be greatly affected by others even when I know I shouldn’t. Sometimes a girl just needs a good cry, gezzz!
I have OUTBURSTS. I can usually let things go, but once I’ve had enough, I’ll let you know. You probably don’t want to be within a mile radius when I get mad. I don’t get mad very often but when I do, it’s not pretty. You would never think I could yell THAT loud.
I have BAD DRINKING Habits. It’s a problem that started my freshman year in high school and guess what, its still here. I’ve tried to count shots, but that becomes a challenge when you chug from the bottle! I guess the real problem is my behavior when I’m too drunk: Of course I become 10X louder (and if you’ve heard me sober, you’ll understand why that a problem). The club becomes a playground and like a 4-year-old at the park, I’ll (apparently) try and find the highest obstruction to climb on, and if I don’t fall off, I’ll continue to dance until escorted out…where I will continue dancing…
Thanks for your time and all your VOTES!
Sincerely,
Alma
